Soroptimists Celebrate Successful Fall

Soroptimist El Dorado had an active fall season. In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Day, our club served refreshments to women attending the SBA Memorial Hospital’s Mammogram Party for Hospital employees.

In November we kicked off our first ever Enchiladas fundraiser. We are grateful to everyone who purchased a pan. Proceeds are used to support club awards and programs for girls and women in our community.

Did you see us at the downtown El Dorado  Thankful Thursday? Robin’s graciously hosted our club at her amazing store.

An awesome group of young women attended our   3rd annual DIBI event.

Our club’s third annual Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls (DIBI) event was November 16.

DIBI is a global program designed to empower teen girls to pursue their career goals and reach their full potential. We were honored to again have a wonderful group of young women attending our DIBI event this fall.

We continued our busy fall season by serving meals at the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner held November 23.

Look for us at Dillon’s on December 5 – we will be ringing bells for the Salvation Army. We will also assemble Christmas packages for residents of local nursing homes, and we adopted two families through The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program.

Club members contributing to our success include Susan Adams, Sue Beattie, Bonnie Buckman, Brenda Burk, Julia Davis, Darla Deaton, Janett Doile, Marcia Greene, Debi LaForge, Velma Larimer, Sharon Mangels, Dee Marshall, Trisha Powell, Cathy Roland, Joni Sanders, Bernie Spradling, Judie Storandt, Bebee Thomas, Kim Whiteside, and Loretta Whitney.
