Anyone want to win $500?

Soroptimist El Dorado, KS, has launched an “Investing in Dreams” fundraiser – to raise $2500 for its annual scholarships, awards, and projects.

Tickets are $20 and only 150 tickets will be sold. Those are good odds.

The winner will receive a $500 Walnut Valley Packing gift certificate. It can be used for one year to purchase beef, chicken, and pork cuts and products – including deli meats, bacon, sausages, etc.

Soroptimist El Dorado has been in our community for over 60 years.

We are a service club with a mission to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to economic empowerment – education being a primary focus.

Ways we do this locally include:

• scholarships and cash awards for local girls and women, including:
  • $1000 Nursing Scholarship at Butler Community College
  • $1000 “Live Your Dream” award for a woman pursing higher education while supporting a dependent.
  • $500 cash award for an outstanding H.S. senior.

• an annual event for local girls to provide career advice.

Due to COVID-19, we are replacing our usual fundraisers with this raffle.

All proceeds will be used for our service projects, including the above awards.
