Soroptimist International El Dorado met September 10, 2018. We were excited to install new members, Dee Marshall and Cathy Roedel Roland, at our first monthly meeting of the 2018 – 2019 club year.
The meeting was called to order by President Janett Doile.
Edith Waugh gave a report on our club’s budget. Club members were encouraged to invite family and friends to enroll in the Dillons Community Rewards program, and select our club to receive contributions from Dillons for using their Plus cards.
Sharon Mangels provided an update on the current balance of our club’s BCC Endowed Nursing Scholarship. Bebee Thomas gave a report of the Ways and Means committee, and its recommendations.
Ginger Glenn invited club members and guests to attend the first social event of the club year. We will dine at Il Vicino and then play mini golf at All Star Adventure in Wichita.
The 2018 South Central Region Fall Meeting is October 5 – 7, at the Downstream Casino near Quapaw, OK. District meetings and motivational speakers are on the agenda. Golf, casino games, and spa treatments are also available. Eight members are planning to attend.
Donations of women’s sweats were collected for donation to SBA Allen Memorial Hospital – for women treated in the Emergency Room who need clothing to return home.
Brenda Burk, Bonnie Buckman and Susan Adams were thanked for providing light snacks and drinks. Members attending not mentioned were Sue Beattie, Julia Davis, Ginger Glenn, Gail Gomez, Debi La Forge, Joni Sanders, and Judie Storandt. The meeting was adjourned with the Soroptimist Pledge.
